The “Sport Movies & Tv 2014 – 32nd Milano International FICTS Fest”, the worldwide Final of 16 Festivals in the 5 Continents of the “World FICTS Challenge,” will be held in Milano, Italy, from 3-8 December. The event, organized by the Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (FICTS) and recognized by the International Olympic Committee, is articulated in 150 Projections, seven Meeting, two Workshops, four Exhibitions, four Side Events, two Press Conferences, 30 Awards of international guests. READ MORE



Academy Holds 30th Annual Awards of Sport Ceremony

The Academy’s 30th Annual Awards of Sport Ceremony was held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014, in honor of the 2014 Sport Artists of the Year, Ms. Miriam Cabello (Painter) (right) and Ms. Gail Folwell (Sculptor) (middle). In addition, the Academy honored Dr. Bonnie Tiell (left) as the 2014 Alumna of the Year.

Following the award presentations, Folwell unveiled her sculpture, Pas de Deux, which features an exchange between two hockey players.  Cabello, unveiled her piece entitled, Ron Richards I , which she completed in 2011 as a portion of her current “White Rope” series, featuring Aboriginal boxing legends.  Both exquisite pieces are now housed in the American Sport Art Museum and Archives in Daphne, Ala.


Academy Congratulates Dr. Daniel Stewart

Academy President and CEO, Dr. Thomas P. Rosandich, congratulated Dr. Daniel Stewart for successfully defending his dissertation on  “Dominant Arm/Dominant Leg Usage in Youthball Goalball Players” on Wednesday, 29 October 2014. Dr. Stewart, who now holds a Doctorate of Education in Sport Management from the Academy, is currently the Vice President of Student Services at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.
