Admissions Requirements

Students attempting to gain admission to the Bachelor of Sport Science program must submit all of the following applicable documentation for review. See the complete Admission Requirements in the Academy Undergraduate Programs Academic Catalog

If you plan to use Financial Aid at some point while you are attending the Academy, please go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov and fill out the 2012-13 FAFSA. This will help speed up your admissions process. Note: please include the Academy’s federal code (021706) on your application.

Requirements / Description
Application Form All prospective students are required to complete the online application form.
Application Fee The application fee for domestic students is $50. The application fee for international students is $100. The fee is non-refundable and constitutes part of the admission credentials.
Transcripts An official, sealed copy of all college transcripts. If credit was received outside of the U.S, official, certified copy (English translation) of transcripts must be received. A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required for full admission to the program.
Personal Statement A written essay describing the motivations or reasons for pursuing a Bachelor of Sports Science degree.
Official Report* Official course-by-course evaluation from an Approved Educational Credential Evaluator. This evaluation must state the equivalent of at least 36 transferable undergraduate equivalent credits required for admissions.
TOEFL Results** Official results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) verifying a minimum score of 550 for full-standing admission or a score of 500-549 for conditional admission. The computer-based TOEFL score for full standing admission is 213. An internet-based score of 79 or above is required for full-standing and a score of 61-78 is required for conditional admittance.

General Education Requirements

Students are required to transfer into the BSS program with at least 36 credit hours of general education courses and elective credits completed. Specifically, the general education requirements consist of the following:

  • Six semester hours of English
  • Six semester hours of Fine Arts/Humanities
  • Six semester hours of Social/Behavioral Sciences
  • Six semester hours of Natural Science
  • Three semester hours of Mathematics
  • Three semester hours of Computer Science

General electives in any area must total 30 additional credit hours.

Students must transfer all required lower-division credit hours for full standing admission. Students transferring without all lower-division credit hours may be accepted on a conditional basis, but must earn any missing lower-division credit hours before the mentorship requirements will be approved.
