Chapter 30

The Ch.30 Montgomery GI Bill® provides up to 36 months of education benefits to veterans. If eligible, veterans will have up to 10 years, following the release from active duty, to utilize their benefits. For questions concerning eligibility, please contact Veterans Affairs.

Paperwork Needed for Enrollment:

Veterans may apply for benefits online through VONAPP (Veterans On Line Application). Please note that this paperwork must be provided by the veteran to the VA office and the Academy. The Academy will not forward paperwork to the VA office. Veterans will need to submit a copy of the 22-1990 (Application for Education Benefits) or 22-1995 (Request for Change of Program or Place of Training).

Payment Options:

Students are required to pay out of pocket in order to get started with their courses.

WAVE System (Web Automated Verification of Enrollment):

Students utilizing Ch. 30, 1606, and 1607 must verify their enrollment at the end of every month using the WAVE system, which can be done online or by phone.

□ Fill out either a 22-1009 or 22-1995 form
□ Make sure paperwork goes to the VA Office & USSA
□ Pay USSA out of pocket for courses & receive reimbursment from the government
