First, you must complete the Certification in Sports Coaching to proceed.

To REGISTER ONLINE go to http://ussa.edu/continuing-education/certification-programs/sports-coaching/. Scroll to the bottom and click Register for Classes Now. Select the name of the course you would like to start with and select Continuing Education Student. Now log in or create your Continuing Education student account. Once you create your account you will receive an email confirmation that your account was created. (If you don’t receive this email within a few minutes, please contact Continuing Education.) Once you log in the system will allow you to pay for the course via PayPal. You don’t have to have a PayPal account to purchase a course. PayPal accepts all major credit cards. When you have paid for your course you are immediately enrolled.

To ACCESS YOUR COURSE go to http://records.ussa.edu/community/index.cfm and look for the Login panel at the top right hand corner of the webpage. Scroll down to the box Current Courses and the courses that you registered for will be inside that box. Select the course you want to work on to open.

Secondly, you need to contact the Continuing Education office by email to declare your intention to enroll in the Sports Diploma program. Please note that a $100 administrative fee will be required to enroll.

Third, you must manually enroll into two additional courses. You may choose 2 of the 8 courses below:

CES 303 Coaching Track and Field

Designed to provide entry-level information, fundamentals, principles, and management enablers for those interested in coaching basic track and field skills.

CES 334 Coaching Golf

A focus on the specific fundamentals necessary for coaching golf. Emphasis is placed on teching skills, techniques and drills. Planning, preparation and administration for the various phases of the season are covered, along with a program evaluation for continued improvement.

CES 378 Coaching Volleyball

Focuses on the specific fundamentals necessary for coaching volleyball. Emphasis is placed on teaching skills, techniques and drills. Planning, preparation and administration of practices and competitions are covered, along with a program evaluation for continued improvement.

CES 508 Coaching Baseball

A focus on the specific fundamentals necessary for coaching baseball. Emphasis is placed on teaching skills, techniques and drills. Planning, preparation and administration for the various phases of the season are covered, along with a program evaluation for continued improvement.

CES 513 Coaching Basketball

A focus on the specific fundamentals necessary for coaching basketball. Emphasis is placed on teaching skills, techniques and drills. Planning, preparation and administration for the various phases of the season are covered, along with a program evaluation for continued improvement.

CES 532 Coaching Football

This course is a study of the science and art of coaching football. All phases of coaching are addressed, from the Xs and Os to the philosophy of leadership, responsibility, and teaching.

CES 563 Coaching Soccer

A focus on the specific fundamentals necessary for coaching soccer. Emphasis is placed on teaching skills, techniques and drills. Planning, preparation and administration for the various phases of the season are covered, along with a program evaluation for continued improvement.

CES 576 Coaching Tennis

A focus on the specific fundamentals necessary for coaching tennis. Emphasis is placed on teaching skills, techniques and drills. Planning and preparation for practices and competition are covered, along with a program evaluation for continued improvement.

And lastly, when the two additional courses have been completed, the student will be referred to the Mentorship Department to complete a 200 contact hour mentorship. The student will submit the necessary paperwork and will receive approvals. Then the Mentorship office will notify the Continuing Education Department that the student is cleared for registration and charged for their mentorship. The Mentorship Department will notify the Continuing Education Department of the Mentorship grade for posting. Once posted the Sports Diploma will then be issued.
