Academy, Malaysian Prime Minister Featured in News Story

Author Evan Weiner wrote a story for examiner.com about the United States Sports Academy and the Malaysian Prime Minister, the Honorable Dato Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak, who was in New York on Friday, 16 April 2010 to attend an event honoring the prime minister and the First Lady, Her Excellency Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor.

The event was co-hosted by the United States Sports Academy and the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. First Lady Rosmah was awarded the BCIU’s first International Peace and Harmony Award. Weiner discussed with Prime Minister Najib his country’s passion for sports and the industry’s development in the country. The Academy has a number of initiatives under way in Malaysia, and has had relations with the country for 50 years.

Weiner is an author, radio-TV commentator and lecturer on “The Politics of Sports Business. He earned the Academy’s Distinguished Service Award in 2002.
