Sarah Golis, who is pursuing a Master’s in Sports Medicine/Sports Management with an emphasis in Recreational Management and Sport Psychology from the Academy, has recently accomplished an ambitious achievement. On Wednesday, 1 January 2014, Golis was selected as Keystone College’s first-ever head coach of the women’s lacrosse team.
Golis looks forward to competing at the varsity level in the spring of 2015 as a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III member of the Colonial States Athletic Conference. The Giants will play their 2014 home games on the College’s new $3.4 million artificial turf field and track complex on Keystone’s campus in La Plume, Calif.
Prior to accepting this position, Golis served as the College’s athletic coordinator, assisting the director of athletics in duties such as managing team operations and fundraising budgets, securing team transportation and assisting in game management.
In the spring of 2013, Golis was named an Advanced Health and Fitness Specialist by the American Council on Exercise in San Diego, Calif., designated by the National Strength and Conditioning Association in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Before beginning her career in sports, Golis earned a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies with a specialization in Public Relations and Advertising from Misericordia University in 2011.
