President of the National Senior Games Association Visits Academy

Phil Godfrey, President of the National Senior Games Association and member of the United States Sports Academy’s Board of Visitors (right) stopped by the campus on Thursday, 1 April 2010 and met with Academy President, Dr. Thomas P. Rosandich.

The Senior Games Sports Movement boasts over 300,000 members, stages a biennial multisport competition for athletes aged 50 years and over and is considered one of the largest sport-for-all movements in the world. Dr. Rosandich serves as the President of North America for the International Sports for All Federation (FISpT) and therefore shares this interest in making sport available for all individuals regardless of factors such as age, gender or nationality.

Among the initiatives discussed was the possibility of organizing of a Pan Pacific Senior Games competition to be staged in China later this year.
