Dr. Kechia Seabrooks Rowles, who recently earned her Doctor of Education in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy, has a new article published in The Sport Journal, the Academy’s refereed journal of sport.
Her article, “An Investigation into Factors that Contribute to the Perception of Disparities between Academic Achievement and Athletic Participation in High School Student-Athletes,” analyzes and compares various factors that contribute to the attitudes and perceptions held by public high school student-athletes toward academic achievement.
Rowles, who received her doctorate in September 2015, serves as athletic coordinator/athletic trainer for Rockdale County Public Schools in metropolitan Atlanta. She is responsible for the prevention, care and rehabilitation of injuries for all student-athletes in the district. She also works to ensure all safety measures and policies adhere to local, state and national guidelines.
