Chapter 1607 Reserve Educational Assistance (REAP)

The REAP educational benefit program was designed to provide educational assistance to members of the selected reserve components called or ordered to active duty in response to war or national emergency. For questions concerning eligibility, please contact Veterans Affairs.

Paperwork Needed for Enrollment:

Veterans will need to submit a copy of the 22-1990 (Application for Education Benefits) or 22-1995 (Request for Change of Program or Place of Training).

Veterans may apply for benefits online through VONAPP (Veterans On Line Application). Please note that this paperwork must be provided by the Veteran to the VA office and USSA.  The Academy will not forward paperwork to the VA office.

Payment Options:

Students are required to pay out of pocket in order to get started with their courses. Monthly Reimbursement for Chapter 1607 is determined by Veterans Affairs.

WAVE System (Web Automated Verification of Enrollment):

Students utilizing Ch. 30, 1606, and 1607 must verify their enrollment at the end of every month using the WAVE system, which can be done online or by phone.

□ Go online to VONAPP
□ Fill out either a 22-1990 or 22-1995 form
□ Make sure paperwork goes to the VA Office & USSA
□ Pay USSA out of pocket for courses & receive reimbursement from the government
□ Verify enrollment monthly with the WAVE system
