Computer Network Technician

The United States Sports Academy is seeking Network Technician to provide hands-on server and network configuration and support.  He/she will review and further document networking components and connections.  This person will have the responsibility for ensuring active networks and servers are secure and fully accessible to properly authenticated users.  The Technician will provide network administration operations and perform maintenance requests as well as desktop support for faculty and staff.  This person will work with staff in required systems management and operations techniques and processes.  The Technician will install, maintain, and troubleshoot all hardware, and peripherals, software and related services, LAN support; data communications, VoIP phone systems, and the institution’s security system. 

Qualifications:  Associates Degree or equivalent, 2 years work experience in information systems and network architecture and support. Demonstrated ability in configuring, troubleshooting and repairing all networks including Microsoft networks and TCP/IP networking components such as Cisco routers and switches. Familiarity with Linux. Knowledge of TCP/IP including Firewall configuration and maintenance. Strong understanding of Ethernet, 802.11, how it functions and related equipment as well as wireless networking designed around 802.11a-b-g-n-ac and securing these networks.
