The United States Sports Academy has announced its Athlete of the Month ballot for July. Following the selection committee’s meeting, a total of 12 candidates – six male, six female – from eight different countries comprise the list.The original pool of those nominated was 35 before getting pared down by a vote from a panel of the Academy’s faculty and staff. The list includes American tennis star Novak Djokovic and South Korean golf champion In Gee Chun.
Other male candidates are: Mike Trout, baseball, United States; Jossimar Calvo Moreno, gymnastics, Colombia; Joao De Lucca, swimming, Brazil; Zach Johnson, golf, United States; and Chris Froome, cycling, Great Britain.
Other female candidates are: Carli Lloyd, soccer, United States; Genzebe Dibaba, track and field, Ethiopia; Serena Williams, tennis, United States; Ellie Black, gymnastics, Canada; and Maya Moore, basketball, USA.
One male and one female will be chosen the winners as decided by the public. So, feel free to cast your vote today on our website, and encourage your friends to do the same.
