Give Me 2 MinutesDAPHNE, Ala. – People wanting up-to-the-minute information and perspective on the sport world can take advantage of a new series of two-minute videos in which United States Sports Academy faculty members discuss current issues and major topics in sport.

The series, called “Give Me 2 Minutes,” features Academy faculty addressing a wide range of important topics in sport.  Many of the fast-moving videos cover breaking sports news, while others focus on important longer-term themes.  For instance, some shows focus on current sporting events and player performances, while others look at ongoing topics such as performance enhancing drugs and corruption in sport.

As new videos are produced they are added in date order to the Academy’s YouTube “Give Me 2 Minutes” playlist.

In addition to providing the public with an opportunity to hear from the Academy’s faculty and take advantage of their expertise in sport,  many of the videos are also integrated into the online class content used to teach students in the Academy’s bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs, as well as its post-secondary non-degree programs that have provided sport education to tens of thousands of people in more than 65 countries around the world.

“Our most important competitive advantage at USSA are our faculty,” said Dr. Tomi Wahlstrom, vice president of academic affairs at the Academy.

“They are the subject matter experts and our core competency. They are the front lines interacting with our students.

“This platform gives them a way to share their expertise in an easy to follow format. This is beneficial to our students who often have time limitations.

“With these two minute video clips we can address a variety of topics in a quick and easily accessible way. This helps our students and the public to get to know us a bit better while learning about our world of sports.”

The videos, produced onsite by the Academy’s technology staff, can be viewed online by clicking on the “Give Me 2 Minutes” icon on the Academy’s home page, www.ussa.edu, or click on the Give Me 2 Minutes playlist on the Academy’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/USSportsAcademy.
