Editor’s note:  Since students of the United States Sports Academy are able to complete their coursework and degree requirements on their own schedule, the Academy throughout each month immediately awards degrees to students who complete requirements. Students are not required to wait to the end of a semester or term to receive their degrees. The Academy congratulates the following graduates who completed their degrees this month.

Doctoral Graduate

Dr. Alex Z. Hoffman (Encinitas, Calif.) – Ed.D. Sports Management, sports health and fitness specialization, sports leadership emphasis, with honors. Dissertation: “The influence of postprandial conditions on the accuracy of air displacement plethysmography.”

Dr. Sara J. Ziedenweber (Spanish Fort, Ala.) – Ed.D. Sports Management, sports marketing specialization, with honors. Dissertation: “The state of college baseball and the College World Series.”

Dr. Allen W. Gilbert (Weaver, Ala.) – Ed.D. Sports Management, sports leadership emphasis. Dissertation: “Alabama High School Athletic Association football officials’ perceived effectiveness of the HUDL video hosting system for training and development.”

Master’s Graduates

Michael R. Geiger (Visalia, Calif.) – M.S.S. dual degree Sports Medicine and Sports Health and Fitness, NCAA compliance emphasis, with honors.

Daniel R. Seahorn (Houston, Texas) – M.S.S. Sports Coaching, with honors.

Dennis C. Redfern (Marshville, N.C.) – M.S.S. Sports Studies, recreation management emphasis.

Cheryl L. Tabone (Fredonia, N.Y.) – M.S.S. dual degree Sports Coaching and Sports Medicine.
