We are excited to feature Dr. Ciara Taylor in our Ask an Alum webinar! In her segment, Dr. Taylor will discuss the importance of athletic training, different job opportunities in the field, and also give advice to our doctoral students about navigating the dissertation process. Dr. Ciara Taylor is in her 13th year as an athletic trainer at Oak Mountain High School (OMHS) located in Birmingham, Alabama. She provides healthcare via her employer ATI Physical Therapy. Prior to OMHS, Ciara was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Alabama State University. Ciara has worked with many professional athletes. She was employed as a Concussion Spotter and Concussion Manager for the United States Football League (USFL) inaugural season. Additionally, Ciara served as an athletic trainer for the 2022 World Games.

Our first Sport Art Contest for high school students is underway! We are going back to our roots to recognize the “Artist and the Athlete” by honoring young artists in our community. We invite the public to join us in May 2023 to view special art pieces depicting athletes in motion created by Baldwin County high school art students. Prizes will be awarded for the overall winner and winners in each of four categories.
