Emergency Broadband Benefit

Our students know firsthand how important a stable internet connection is—their studies depend on it! That’s why we are excited to share information about a temporary internet assistance program called the Emergency Broadband Benefit; it is designed to help qualified households pay for internet service at home. (For example: Are you a student that received Pell Grant funding during this award year? If so, you qualify for the Emergency Broadband Benefit.)

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched this temporary program to help families and households afford internet service during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Emergency Broadband Benefit provides a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers.
