This version of the Academy website was established in January of 2019. The Academy website was developed by the Department of Technology, in conjunction with the Department of Communications. Most, if not all, of the content, photography and videography for the site was developed by the Academy, and is protected by copyright. The Academy web server is managed by the Department of Technology. The site will continually evolve based on industry best practices and the needs and priorities of The United States Sports Academy.

Technology Overview

The Academy website was built using widely-accepted web standards in order to create a robust, accessible information tool for all visitors. The site utilizes modern web techniques such as HTML5, CSS3 and responsive design. Responsive design is a method where the display of the website will adapt to your screen size and allow for optimal viewing whether on desktop, tablet or phone.

Web Accessibility

The United States Sports Academy encourages individuals with disabilities to participate in our many programs and activities. The Academy is committed to ensuring that our facilities and the information, services, courses and technology we provide are inclusive and accessible in accordance with applicable law. Consistent with this commitment, the Academy has launched an accessibility initiative to provide our technology users, including those with disabilities, a functional and accessible technology experience with our web presence and our instructional and emerging technologies.

To further this initiative, the Academy administration and Academy web professionals are making progress to meet World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, or WCAG 2.0 AA, over the next four years. To begin this process, the Academy will audit existing web materials to help the web team determine appropriate timelines and resources needed to reach WCAG 2.0 AA. This auditing and education process began late Fall 2018. In the coming months, more information will be shared. For more information, please refer to https://ussa.edu/accessibility.

Academy Web Policy

The Academy website and all official and unofficial Academy websites are governed by and subject to the World Wide Web Policy of The United States Sports Academy.
