Staying prepared for the unexpected.

The United States Sports Academy takes every possible measure to be prepared for whatever emergencies that can arise. The Academy’s Environmental Health and Safety Committee and Risk Management Committee both play active roles in identifying, preparing for, and mitigating risks. The most common risk is weather related. The Academy is located along the Mobile Bay in south Alabama. Hurricanes are the most common emergency threat. Because of this threat, the disaster recovery plan focuses on weather disruptions. The disaster recovery plan is reviewed and updated at least yearly. An emergency preparedness drill is conducted at least once per year. Many services are cloud hosted so that local emergencies will not disrupt student class work.

The Environmental Health and Safety Committee meets regularly to address campus safety concerns and to maintain a safe campus. The EHSC oversees First Aid & CPR training, fire safety, and the EHSC manual.
