The Academy offers a one-of-a kind sports master’s degree program specifically designed to meet the needs of up and coming sports professionals in one of the fastest growing industries in the world. All courses are offered online so you can complete your studies at any time from any place. The Academy offers a 33 semester hour program leading to a Master of Sports Science (MSS) degree. You may also pursue a combination of any of the sports master’s degree areas leading to a dual major, for a total of 42 to 45 semester hours depending upon the area of study.
A sport education all about you! The Academy’s Distance Learning Program offers you the flexibility to take courses and complete your master’s degree without leaving your home or job. Students have 24/7 access to courses and can easily interact with their professors and other students through this program.
Leaders in the sports world: Since the Academy’s founding in 1972, thousands of Academy graduates have gone on to success as coaches, managers, educators, athletic directors and administrators, entrepreneurs, healthcare providers, researchers and a myriad of other professionals at all level of sports, including professional, Olympic, collegiate, interscholastic, and recreational.
Mentorship: Away from the computer, into the field: The Academy mentorship experience gets students away from the books and computer and into the office, onto the field or court, analyzing video, crunching statistics, managing facilities, promoting events and any number of activities. The mentorship provides the student with actual, in-the-field training within the profession of sport. You’ll build your professional network while gaining real world experience.
Students applying for the Academy’s graduate degree programs must submit all previous official transcripts and have finished an undergraduate program with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Students must also prepare a written personal statement with an autobiography, career plans and expected goals for pursuing a master’s degree from the Academy and submit three recommendations.
