The American Sport Art Museum & Archives (ASAMA) received a donation of football art pieces from United States Sports Academy Trustee and Art Committee Member Emerita Susan McCollough.

McCollough donated six pieces by artists Rick Rush, Carl V. Jones, Steve Skipper and Daniel Moore that will now be a permanent part of the ASAMA collection, which is home to more than 1,800 pieces of sport art across a variety of media.

An artist herself, McCollough is currently working on a sculpture of University of Alabama football coach Nick Saban, which she will unveil at the Academy during its upcoming Founder’s Day event on April 22, 2022.

Susan Nomberg McCollough is an internationally-acclaimed abstract and impressionistic artist who has produced hundreds of paintings, many of which have won national and international awards. She is a former “Miss University of Alabama” and “Miss Alabama, International” in Long Beach, Calif. (which gave way to the “Miss Universe Pageant”).

McCollough became a trustee of the Academy after serving for more than 10 years as an active member of the Academy’s Art Committee, where she continues in an Emeritus capacity. The Academy honors artists from around the world and the Art Committee is responsible for selecting the Academy’s Sports Artist of the Year, whose works are displayed in the Academy’s American Sport Art Museum & Archives (ASAMA). ASAMA is located on the Academy’s campus in Daphne, Ala.

McCollough’s works can be seen at her gallery, The Susan N. McCollough Gallery/Studio at the McCollough Institute for Appearance and Health in Gulf Shores or viewed online at susannmccolloughart.media.
